What We Collect
When you reserve a car's spot, we collect the name and phone number you enter, plus the reservation code and timestamp. When a driver shares their location through their driver link, we store their approximate GPS coordinates so the board can show distance-to-crossing.
Driver Phone Numbers Are Never Public
Driver phone numbers are private and are never shown on the public board, car detail pages, or anywhere a buyer can see. Only a car's magnet number, driver first name, and approximate position are shown publicly.
Approximate, Not Precise, Positions
Positions shown on the board are rounded so they read as "near the crossing" rather than a pinpoint trace of a specific person's exact location.
How We Use Buyer Contact Info
A buyer's name and phone number are used only to coordinate their reservation — for example, if CarSwap staff need to reach a buyer about an expiring hold. We do not sell contact information or use it for marketing.
No Payment Data
CarSwap does not process payments, so we never collect card numbers, bank details, or any payment information. All cash changes hands directly between buyer and driver, outside this site.
Data Retention
Reservation and car records are kept to operate the board and for basic recordkeeping. You can ask CarSwap staff to have your reservation information removed.
